The internal assessment suggests that the BJP has to go a long way before becoming a force to reckon with in Tamil Nadu and optics like this are useless. Another couple of names from Tamil Nadu is Maharashtra governor C P Radhakrishnan and Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi (Ex IPS) may also be in the reckoning. Names of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rajya Sabha Member Sudha Murty are also discussed. 

Meanwhile, from Bihar governor Arif Mohammad Khan to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to former Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachood are some other important names for the post in discussion. Besides Chandrachood, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is another name being speculated as a potential VP candidate. In addition, names of BJP National President J P Nadda, Delhi L G Vinai Kumar Saxena, Journalist Ram Bahadur Rai and J&K L G Manoj Sinha are some other probable names.
