New Delhi (28.02.2025): A day ahead of the completion of Madhabi Puri Buch’s term the NaMo administration appointed Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS: 1987: OD) as the next Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Currently, Pandey is Secretary, Department of Revenue and Finance Secretary designate. He will succeed Madhabi Puri Buch.
He held various positions as Secretary, including additional charges. He worked as Secretary, DIPAM and also held the additional charge of Dept of Public Enterprise (DPE) for several months. On Dr T V Somanathan’s appointment as Union Cabinet Secretary Pandey was in September 2024 designated as Finance Secretary. Under the ad hoc arrangement he also worked as Secretary, DoPT vice Dr Vivek Joshi.
Right ahead of Union Budget the NaMo administration in January 2025 appointed him as Revenue Secretary.
