Following the superannuation of Chief Secretary Rajni Ranjan Rashmi (IAS:1983:MN), the State Government appointed Dr J Suresh Babu (IAS:1986:MN) as the new Chief Secretary with effect from April 01. Dr Suresh Babu is an MS in general surgery from PGI, Chandigarh. The new Chief Secretary has another 30 months before his superannuation. On the other hand, Additional Chief Secretary Dr Suhel Akhtar a 1986 batch of the IAS has been transferred as Vice Chairman of MIDA and ex-officio CEO, MIDA.
