New Delhi (30.10.2024): The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday announced the appointment of Dr V Candavelou (IAS: 1997: AGMUT) as Chief Secretary Goa. He replaces Dr Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS: 1991: AGMUT) who was recently appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes vice Alka Tiwari (IAS:1988: JH) on her repatriation to the Cadre.Currently, Dr Candavelou is serving as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Goa in addition to the responsibilities of several key departments including finance, mines and planning & statistics. Dr Candavelou becomes the first Chief Secretary from 1997 batch of IAS.
