The department of personnel and training (DoPT) on Wednesday announced the composition of two separate committees to review the performance of IAS and IPS officers of Arunachal Pradesh Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, which includes those serving in the Delhi government. The review committees have been formed under All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement-Benefits) Rules, 1958. Under Rule 16(3), the Central Government may, in consultation with the state government concerned and after giving a member of the service at least three months' notice or three months' pay and allowances in lieu of such notice, require that member to retire in public interest from service on the date on which such member completes thirty years of qualifying service or attains fifty years of age. While Union home secretary will head the committee for review of AGMUT cadre IAS officers, its other members include Delhi chief secretary; secretary, border management, in the home ministry; principal secretary, AGMUT cadre representing Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST); and joint secretary (Union territory) in the home ministry.
