DMRC MD Mangu Singh's services have been extended for a period of another four years. Singh took over from E Shreedharan as MD on 01st January 2012 which was scheduled to come to an end on 31st December 2016. However, the Delhi Govt approved the extension proposal on 08th December which required Centre's concurrence. The Centre has also approved the same on 23 December paving the way for Singh to lead DMRC till 31 December 2020. "The govt of NCT of Delhi, in accordance with provisions of Article 130 of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of DMRC and after obtaining the concurrence of the Central government, is pleased to extend the tenure of Mangu Singh up to 14.12.2020," read the order signed by the Transport Secretary of the Delhi government. It may be noted that Delhi Govt has initially cleared five-year extension.
