on Thursday appointed Dilbagh Singh (IPS:1987:J&K)as the Director General of Police (DGP). Singh
will replace S P Vaid who has been transferred and posted as Transport
Commissioner J&K. It is widely believed that Vaid was, on Thursday, unceremoniously removed from the top job. He was appointed J&K DGP in December 2016 and due to retire in October next year. Currently Dilbagh Singh
serves as DGP Prisons and he will hold the charge of the post of DGP, J&K
in addition to his own duties, till a regular arrangement is made.

Dilbagh Singh is acting DGP of J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday appointed Dilbagh Singh (IPS:1987:J&K)as the Director General of Police (DGP). Singh will replace S P Vaid who has been transferred and posted as Transport Commissioner J&K.
It is widely believed that Vaid was, on Thursday, unceremoniously removed from the top job. He was appointed J&K DGP in December 2016 and due to retire in October next year.
Currently Dilbagh Singh serves as DGP Prisons and he will hold the charge of the post of DGP, J&K in addition to his own duties, till a regular arrangement is made.
