delhi-police-reverts-to-old-nomenclature-for-03-senior-slots Delhi Police has done away with the high-sounding nomenclature of 'senior special commissioner' of police created in August this year to denote the hierarchical seniority of three IPS officers. Accordingly, Ms Vimla Mehra of 1978 batch as well as Dharmendra Kumar and Deepak Mishra of 1984 batch will function as special commissioner like 14 others, but with the salary and perks earmarked for DGP rank officers. An order to this effect was issued by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on the advice of the Union Home Ministry. The three senior (Ms Vimla Mehra, Dharmendra & Deepak Mishra) rank officers will continue to deal with their current responsibilities. Indeed, there is a possibility that their responsibilities may increase from next year when Delhi Police hires 15,000 fresh hands to intensify its operations against crime.
