Having named as successor to Basudeb Banerjee (IAS:1983:WB), the outgoing Chief Secretary, Malay Kumar De (IAS:1985:WB) will today take over as new CS, Govt of West Bengal . Three days ahead of retirement (on June 30) Basudeb Banerjee was named as next State Chief Information Commissioner.
Banerjee will continue at the post for five years or till he attains the age of 65 years, which ever is earlier whereas De will have approx 02 years and 04 months long tenure as Chief Secretary.
