CISF's 49th Raising Day celebration on March 10, 2018, attended by at least nine-ten Ministers of State as well as Vice President Venkaiah Naidu was a revealing moment for many officers. Contrary to the belief ingrained in a section of IPS officers that the significant turnout of ministers and officials at the CISF raising day celebrations in the past two years showed the personal goodwill enjoyed by its former DG Om Prakash Singh, the record turnout of ministers and officials at the recent event, when the CISF is headed by Alok Pateria in (IPS:MP:1986) in additional capacity, confirmed that it's the institutional goodwill enjoyed by the CISF that has for the past two years steadily drawn more ministers to its annual raising event. It is pointed out that the turnout of ministers would have been much higher if a Cabinet meeting was not held on March 10 that tied down Home Minister Rajnath Singh and others. However, the absence of Rajnath Singh was duly compensated by the presence of the Vice President.
