Dr Raman Singh Govt in Chhattisgarh last week removed two DIG rank IPS officers from service in for alleged non-performance. IPS Officer A M Juri (2000 batch) and K C Agrawal (2002) were removed due to non-performance.The order of their removal were issued by the Home Ministry on Saturday, after approval by the ACC. The performance of both the DIG-rank officers was reviewed after completion of their 15 years of service in the IPS and both of them were found unfit to continue. Reportedly, the performance review of IPS officers was conducted to weed out deadwood. As per the AIS Rules performance review of an all-India service officer is conducted twice - first after the completion of 15 years of qualifying service, and then after 25 years. The decision of removal are formalized on recommendations of state govt and concurrence of Union Home Ministry.
