The government on Thursday extended the services of two Superintendents of police in the CBI. IPS officer Sonal Agnihotri (IPS:2004:HP) got an extension till May 30, 2018. Currently, he serves in CBI as SP. Similarly, Keshav Ram Chaurasia (IPS:2003:JK) got three years extension beyond 07 June 2016.
Chaurasia is the CBI SP who is probing coal block allocation cases. The Supreme Court had directed the premier investigating agency not to change the officers associated with the inquiry and investigation of coal block allocation cases. He will continue with CBI till 06 June 2019.
The CBI selection committee had recommended their extension tenure in the first week of September.
