Raipur (27.05.2023): Neelkanth Tekam (IAS: 2008: CG) has applied for the VRS reportedly to start a new innings in politics and enhance the scope of public service. There are indications that Tekam may join the BJP which is the principal opposition in Chhattisgarh now. Tekam, a resident of Saraipara of Antagarh in Kanker district, has been quite active in the district for some days. If highly placed sources of BJP are to be believed then Tekam can be made party candidate from Antagarh or Kondagaon assembly constituencies. Tekam will be the second IAS after O P Chowdhary, who had taken VRS from his job for BJP membership. Chowdhary is now serving as the general secretary of BJP Chhattisgarh.
