New Delhi (31.05.2023): In view of continuing violence and a marathon meeting of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Manipur, the Centre has transferred Rajiv Singh (IPS: 1993: TR), IGP CRPF, to the Manipur cadre for a period of three years. Earlier the Centre also replaced state Chief Secretary Dr Rajeev Kumar (IAS:1988:MN) with Vineet Joshi (IAS:1992:MN). Meanwhile, one among Rajiv Singh and Ashutosh Sinha (IPS: 1990: MN) is likely to be appointed the next DGP of the Manipur. The Centre has asked to relieve Rajiv Singh immediately for enabling him to take up his new assignment in Manipur. Shah held a series of whirlwind meetings in Manipur late on May 29 evening. Shah has already met the ministers and the Governor of the state, which is being ravaged by ethnic violence for nearly a month.
