New Delhi (25.11.2024): If well-placed sources are to be believed, the New Delhi establishment has started meetings & deliberations for the first tranche of relocation of ministries from their present offices to Central Vista. In the first phase, fifteen Union ministries have been identified to be relocated to the integrated hi-tech office complex.
Reportedly, Ministry of Finance (MoF) would be the flag bearer of the march from North Block to Central Vista. Of the six departments under MoF, Revenue, Expenditure, DEA are housed in North Block whereas Financial Services is located at Sansad Marg and DIPAM & DPE in CGO Complex. Over a dozen other ministries would also join MoF with a deadline of shifting in March 2025.
Reportedly, a fresh round of meetings and deliberations started in the high offices last week in this regard. This assumes significance in the backdrop of revised timeline for the completion of Central Vista. Initially it was 2031 but later revised to 2027-28 i.e. well before 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
