While the verdict is seen as a big relief to former telecom minister A Raja and DMK supremo Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi, the people of India are sure to feel let down once again by the country's judicial and investigative agencies. The trial in the scam started six years ago after the Comptroller and Auditor General exposed in 2010 that 122 2G licenses had been given to telecom operators at throwaway prices without a free and fair bidding process, causing a loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the national exchequer. The licenses were scrapped by the Supreme Court on February 2, 2012. By its verdict, the CBI trial court has clearly put on trial the SC's decision of scrapping the licenses. Amazing! Isn't it? No one is guilty! So where did Rs 1.72 lakh crores go?
