New Delhi (16.01.2023): Power corridors (that no longer exist under the NaMo administration) are abuzz about the name of Praveen Kumar (IRS IT: 1987) being taken again in hushed tones in North Block. Kumar, an officer with robust career profile, is currently holding the charge of Principal DG Income Tax (Ahmadabad) while being one rank higher. His substantial posting is Principal CCIT, Pune. He held the charge of DGIT, Kolkata during the crucial West Bengal Elections as well. Now, his name is doing the rounds for the most powerful position of Member (Investigation), CBDT.
