CBDT: Five IRS officers posted as Principal Chief Commissioner in Income Tax

New Delhi (10.08.2024): The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) effected a reshuffle of senior IRS (IT) officers on promotion in the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (PCC IT) and Principal Director General of Income Tax (PDG IT). The name of these officers are as follows.
  1. Pankaj Kumar Mishra (IRS IT: 1989)- Principal CCIT, MP & Chhattisgarh
  2. Prawin Kumar (IRS IT: 1989)- Principal CCIT (Exemptions), Delhi 
  3. Ganapati R Bhat (IRS IT: 1989)- Principal CCIT (International Taxation), Delhi
  4. Sanjay Bahadur (IRS IT: 1989)- Principal DGIT (Training), Delhi
  5. Rahul Karna (IRS IT: 1989)- Principal CCIT, Odisha. Karna (OSD) will succeed Vir Birsa Ekka on his retirement on 31.08.2024 
Further, It may be underlined that among five PCCITs P K Mishra and Sanjay Bahadur have maximum tenure in service (i.e. upto October 2026) whereas Rahul Karna, Ganapati R Bhat and Pravin Kumar will retire in January, July and September next year respectively.
