As Indianmandarins had reported first (16.07.2020) the NaMo administration on Monday extended the tenure (on re-employment basis) of Pramod Chandra Modi (Retd IRS IT:1982) for a period of six months ending 28 February 2021. His extended term was scheduled to end on 31.08.2020. His tenure was extended (on-contract) first on 29.08.2019; two days ahead of his retirement i.e. 31.08.2019. When Sushil Chandra’s term as CBDT Chairman was extended in May 2017 on a re-employment basis it was considered a rare exception.
