getting extension in his service tenure, the outgoing CBDT Chairman Pramod
Chandra Mody (IRS IT:1982) is scheduled to retire this week. A couple of weeks
back it was being talked about that Chairman's tenure would be extended but
some recent developments appear to have something else to say. Further, Akhilesh Ranjan
(IRS IT:1982), CBDT Member (Legislation) is waiting for his turn whose
retirement comes in April next year. Those in the know of the affairs say that
there will be clarity soon whether Mody hangs his boot handing over the baton
to Ranjan.
