New Delhi (16.10.2024): Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Hyderabad declined to grant relief to seven IAS officers who challenged the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order over their allocation to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana cadres.
A Vani Prasad (IAS: 1995: AP), Vakati Karuna (IAS: 2004:AP), Ronald Rose(IAS: 2006:AP) and Amrapali Kata(IAS: 2010:AP) were allotted Andhra Pradesh cadre while C Hari Kiran, Lotheti Shiva Shankar and G Srijana were assigned to Telangana. The four officers – Vani Prasad, Vakati Karuna, Ronald Rose and Amrapali Kata wanted to be retained in Telangana.
The Tribunal bench comprising Judicial member Latha Baswaraj Patne and Shalini Mishra (Administrative) said it would hear the matter in detail and pronounce the final judgement, even as the counsels for the officers requested for stay order. Officers were directed to report to respective state cadres by Wednesday. The bench directed the DoPT to file a detailed counter affidavit containing specific explanations related to parameters deciding domicile status of the officers, swapping of officers and rules of reservations.
