Guwahati (24.07.2023): United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) on July 23, 2023 threatened Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh (IPS: 1991: AM) of dire consequences if the latter didn't refrain himself from doing encounters.The threat was issued after one alleged accused got injured in police firing pertaining to a case of demanding extortion money from businessmen in Upper Assam. However, the banned militant group cited numerous such cases where some people collected money in the name of ULFA.ULFA said, “The DGP repeatedly displayed bravery by doing fake encounters. Such incidents should be stopped immediately. This is our last warning.''
