Assam Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia has called for demolishing "feudal thinking in our present system of functioning." Inaugurating a two-day regional conference on Good Governance and Replication of Best Practises in Guwahati on December 22, he stressed the importance of "freedom for vertical interaction in the bureaucratic system". He felt that vertical interaction may promote innovation and create a congenial atmosphere for progressive administration. Speaking on the occasion, GoI's Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) K V Eapen said, "The aim of organizing this regional conference is to expose administrative reforms department to some best practices." "The issue of good governance is a priority," he said. The issue is a simplification of procedures, process, and public grievance redressal, he said, adding, digital India has now begun to transform every nook and cranny of the country.
