Dr Arup Roychoudhury (CMD of NTPC) is scheduled to complete his five-year term as CMD of the biggest power generation utility NTPC. Having approx 16 months in attaining the retirement age of 60 yrs Choudhury was being seen to have prospects for extension till December 31, 2016. But after C S Verma (erstwhile CMD, SAIL) Arup Rorchoudhury may prove to be second Maharatna Chief to have denied extension.
Reportedly, the search for his successor has been started.
