UP cadre IPS officer Aparna Kumar (IPS:2002:UP) successfully scaled amount Everest at 11:02 IST on Saturday.
After successfully scaling up the highest mountain peaks - Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica, Mount Aconcagua in South America, Mount Elbrus in the Caucasus, Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Aparna has now climbed 6 of the 7 summits which are considered the most challenging for mountaineers in the world.
She is the first-ever All India service officer(male or female) from India to have conquered the above challenges.
In her earlier efforts twice to climb Mount Everest, first an avalanche and then an earth quack obstructed her mission. In the third attempt, she did it. Congrats Aparna.
