Mumbai (12.05.2023): Now when the Maharashtra government is relieved that there is no threat to the government, it dropped all charges against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh (IPS: 1988: MH) on May 12, 2023 and also revoked suspension orders issued in December 2021. He would be considered as he was on-duty. However, there is resentment in a big section in the ruling dispensation who wanted the IPS officer to be punished for his alleged atrocity against people arrested in the name of saffron terror.  So there is a glee and gloom scenario.

Param Bir Singh had been facing multiple cases of extortion, corruption and misconduct and he was removed from the post of Mumbai Police chief over his purported mishandling of the Antilia Bomb Scare case. The Antalia case is no less big deal. The Central Bureau of Investigation that had taken over the probe into these allegations against Singh had registered five separate FIRs and the cases were previously registered by Mumbai Police.
