New Delhi (11.01.2022): The cabin crew of Air India Express decided to go on a strike from January 15, 2022 if the management's concerns are not addressed. Over 500 cabin crew workers under the Air India Express Employees Union (AIXEU) are likely to be on strike. They alleged that the management has discriminated while awarding the work. They have put several demands and if the management does not address their concerns, the strike will continue as planned. The contract period of cabin crew has been reduced from five years to one year. Meanwhile, new recruits and other staff members were given five-year contracts to trigger the row. AIXEU has sent a strike notice to the CEO. In such a situation, the strike is likely to have a huge impact on flight operations due to more than 500 cabin crew members of AIXEU.
