Who will succeed Gopalan as Member PESB? His replacement has reached a critical point as he completed his tenure on April 04 but his successor is yet to be named. Indianmandarins has learnt that the Appointments Committee of Cabinet may any day announce the name of his successor.
The selection interview for Gopalan's successor took place on March 31. As many as 38 candidates are said to have tried their luck. The list of applicants included many serving and former Secretaries of Govt of India. The outgoing Railway Board Chairman A K Mittal was also in the race for the post along with Aradhana Johri (IAS:1980:UP) and Madhusudan Prasad (Retd IAS:1980:HY).
Currently, former cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth is heading the PESB and Ms. Gauri Kumar (Retd IAS:1979:GJ) and former NALCO CMD Anshuman Das are members of the board.
