New Delhi (02.12.2024): The New Delhi establishment is learnt to have been working over a dozen of names identified for key positions at Secretary and Additional Secretary level posts. Sources say that a couple of names have already been identified for the Secretary-level posts. It may be underlined that at least four Secretary-level posts are currently vacant in the Ministry of Culture, Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) and Department of Higher Education. Reportedly, appointment for DOPT & Higher Education may take a little more time for reasons.
Further, the establishment is also said to have firmed up to fill some key posts at Additional Secretary level as approximately ten positions are lying vacant for months. Some of the vacant posts are -- DG, Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA); Chairman, Food Corporation of India (FCI); CEO Government e-Marketplace (GeM); CEO, National Health Authority (NHA); Chairman, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA); DG, National Testing Agency (NTA); Vice Chairman, DDA; and Secretary, North Eastern Council (NEC). Positions in NTA, JNPA & NEC are lying vacant for several months and a few more are set to fall vacant soon.
Sources said that the upcoming list of key appointments may also include appointments of Member PESB as well as three members in Central Information Commission (CIC).
