The special session has been convened for the House to pay its respects to the labour force, on account of International Labour Day. But it is learned that the government wants to bring the confidence motion in the wake of current political developments following the defection of seven AAP Rajya Sabha members to the BJP. The leader of the group, Raghav Chadha, had been claiming that 63 of the 94 AAP MLAs were in touch with him. Once the confidence motion is passed, a no-confidence motion cannot be brought about against the government during the course of this session, which may continue until October.
