Lucknow (21.05.2026): The way Arun Dev Gautam (IPS: 1992:
CG) was appointed as Chhattisgarh DGP after serving as officiating DGP for 17 months, it
appears that Uttar Pradesh too may get its full-time DGP as Rajiv Krishna (IPS:
1991: UP) who is serving as officiating DG. Krishna was appointed as officiating DGP on
31.05.2026. Officials of the Uttar Pradesh government are meeting on May
26 to finalise the panel. But what is interesting to note that Krishna is the
front-runner for the post for being the most favourite officer of Chief Minister
Yogi Aadityanath. In view of impending 2027 Assembly elections, this become all the more

Lucknow (21.05.2026): The way Arun Dev Gautam (IPS: 1992: CG) was appointed as Chhattisgarh DGP after serving as officiating DGP for 17 months, it appears that Uttar Pradesh too may get its full-time DGP as Rajiv Krishna (IPS: 1991: UP) who is serving as officiating DG. Krishna was appointed as officiating DGP on 31.05.2026.
Officials of the Uttar Pradesh government are meeting on May 26 to finalise the panel.
