New Delhi (18.11.2024): Is this utility of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan that makes him important or pragmatic approach that has turned him into Man Friday of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Contrary to the talks that the Modi dispensation wanted to fix Chouhan by bringing him to the Centre but it seems to have proved wrong. The Prime Minister set up a Project Monitoring Group under the chairmanship of Chouhan to review implementation of schemes announced by the Prime Minister and in the Union Budget, subordinate legislation and other infrastructure projects. He has been given as Bhupendra Singh Paraste (SAS RR: 2014) as OSD from state services apparently being Chouhan’s choice which is very rare in the present dispensation. There were many other occasions where he was roped in by the PM.
