Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that as many as 115 Central Joint Secretary rank officers may visit as many districts across the country to assess on the ground the real progress in the implementation of central schemes that are high on the priority list of the NDA government.
Reportedly, NITI Ayog had proposed this idea to deploy the central officers to monitor, evaluate and assess the centrally sponsored schemes.
The list of the officers is said to have been finalized and these officers may soon be on their tour of duty.
Of course, there has been some cribbing about the idea and many ministries felt that their routine jobs may suffer on account of the absence of their joint secretaries, but they have all been made to toe the line since the PM needs the real data from the ground to strategize his politics.
