Indianmandarins has learnt that at least four IPS officers of 1995 batch (posted at the centre) are still waiting in the wings for IG berths. In August 2015, as many as 75 IPS officers (1995 batch) were empanelled to be posted as IG. Many of them serving on central deputation have been promoted and posted as IG but few are still waiting in the wings. Two officers are serving with the National Police Academy and one each is serving with BSF and SSB. Reportedly, the cadre controlling authority has been sounded to give sole priority to 1995 & 1996 batch IPS officers in filling the IG level vacancy in Govt of India.
