Indianmandarins has learnt that as many as three senior IAS officers are in the race for the coveted post of chief secretary in Rajasthan. Present Chief Secretary C S Rajan (IAS:1978:RJ) will complete his second extended tenure on June 30, leaving only 03 days for the Vasundhara Raje administration to pick a new CS. As reported earlier by this website, the race for the coveted post is between 1980, 1981 and 1982 batch IAS officers. Among three serious contenders, Anirban Mukhopadhyay (1980) is seniormost and he may have exactly 365 days to contribute in case he is picked as new CS. The next is Ashok Jain (1981) who will retire on December 31, 2017; exactly four months earlier than the third contender Nihal Chand Goyal (1982) who will have a tenure till April 2018.
