Amid the ongoing uproar over the outgoing Jharkhand chief secretary Rajbala Verma, speculations over her prospective successors appear to be at its peak in power corridors. It is widely believed that Amit Khare (IAS:1985: JH) may be picked as Jharkhand CS but Indianmandarins has learnt that top authorities at the center are inclined to bring Khare as Secretary, Dept of Higher Education - the post which may fall vacant on February 28 with the retirement of KK Sharma (IAS:1983:UT). It is said that the top authorities are of the view to pick up an officer with longer residual service with experience for the HRD Ministry. Khare is considered to have an impeccable track record and integrity and had earlier served as a JS in MHRD and has an almost three and a half year long service on hand.
