who-will-succeed-prasad-as-dg-crpf-o-p-singh-bhatnagar-or-pachnanda With three weeks to go for the retirement of CRPF DGP Kode Durga Prasad (IPS:1981: have AP), speculations have peaked about his successor on 01 March 2017. Power corridors are abuzz that the most powerful and well-connected IPS officer O P Singh (IPS:1983: UP) may be laterally shifted from CISF to CRPF, the largest Central Paramilitary Force. But if some reliable sources are to be believed, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar (IPS:1983: UP) may be given the posting. But one thing is certain that Bhatnagar may certainly be given DG post this month, be it CISF or CRPF for the reason that he is the only IPS officer from the 1983 batch who is yet to be given a DG rank post. Currently, Bhatnagar serves as DG, Narcotics Control Bureau - an ADG rank post which is temporarily upgraded to a Special DG rank. R K Pachnanda (IPS:1983: WB), too, is considered in the race for CRPF. He is currently posted as DG, NDRF - a post which is temporarily upgraded to the DG rank. It may be noted that among the three batchmates, Pachnanda is the immediate senior to Bhatnagar on the merit list whereas both Pachnanda and Bhatnagar are senior to O P Singh on the merit list. However, O P Singh has been successful in getting the best posting which testifies his might in terms of claim and network access.
