Speculations are rife as to who may replace Sanjay Kumar (IAS:1990:JH) as the Principal Secretary to the Jharkhand CM. A few days ago, Kumar was reverted to his home cadre of Bihar following the completion of his deputation tenure.
Currently, Sunil Kumar Baranwal (IAS:1997:JH), Secretary to the CM, is functioning as PS to the CM in a stop-gap arrangement. Baranwal is considered close to the CM but he doesn't hold the Principal secretary rank.
It is said that the CM is not in a hurry to appoint a PS as he already has Baranwal, a dependable officer at his disposal. Those in the know of the affairs indicated that it may take some more time to pick up a new PS.
