The ACC on Monday approved the premature repatriation of S M Vijayanand (IAS:1981:KL), Secretary of Ministry of Panchayati Raj, with effect from April 24, 2016. The decision has fueled speculations. Indianmandarins has learnt that Vijayanand may be appointed as successor to Kerala Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Mohanty (IAS:1980:KL). Mohanty took over on March 01 as state CS - two months ahead of his scheduled retirement on April 30.
It was heard in the corridors of power that Vijayanand may take over his new assignment w.e.f. May 01 and he would have a year long tenure as the head of the state bureaucracy. Vijayanand is scheduled to retire on March 31, 2017.
