Lucknow (16.07.2025): The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has requested one-year extension for Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh (IAS: 1988: UP) ahead of his retirement on July 31, 2025. Singh took over the post of CS on June 30, 2024, succeeding Durga Shankar Mishra (Retd IAS: 1984: UP). He has additional administrative duties as Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC), Chairman of PICUP, and head of several other state authorities—underscoring the government’s reliance on his experience and leadership.

If the extension isn’t given, names under consideration to succeed him include senior officers such as Additional Chief Secretary to the CM S P Goyal (IAS: 1989: UP) and Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Devesh Chaturvedi (IAS: 1989: UP).
