'Indianmandarins' reliably learns that Jagmohan Yadav (IPS:UP:1983) has emerged as the top contender for the top cop job amid speculations over second extension to Jain beyond June 30. Jain had taken over as DGP on February 01 this year and had got three months extension beyond March 31.
In the wake of recent law & order crises the UP Govt seems to have reviewed its intent to go for another extension to A K Jain, the incumbent DGP.
Though the state has 13 IPS officers in the rank of DGP but only three are considered to have prospects namely; Vijay Kumar Gupta (IPS:UP:1982), Praveen Singh (IPS:UP:1982) and Jagmohan Yadav.
Yet the question would continue to occupy the public attention whether Jain will get extension of Jagmohan will be new DGP of the state.
