New Delhi (11.07.2025): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has extended Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan's (IAS: 1989: SK) services until August 22, 2026, or further orders, whichever comes first. Initially set to retire on September 30, 2025, this extension allows him to continue in his role beyond his scheduled superannuation. Notably, just before last year's 78th Independence Day celebrations, the Centre had appointed him as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), succeeding Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
