Reportedly, Ratan P Watal (Rtd IAS:1978:AP) and Vijay Madan (IAS:1981:UT) were also on the panel (for Chairman) sent to PMO for a final call. In addition, technocrats Rajesh Jain and Anand Deshpande have been appointed as part-time members of the UIDAI. Jain is founder and MD of netCORE solutions (Info-tech firm) and Deshpande is founder and CEO of Persistent Systems, a global company specialising in software product development services. The post has been lying vacant following resignation of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani's resignation in March 2014. By appointing two Part-time Members NaMo Administration has made its intent clear to make UIDAI competent enough to address future needs and challenges.
