With the joining of Rajesh Malik (IPS:1986:UT) as Special CP (P&L) and S Vasudeva (IPS:1986:UT) as Special CP (Welfare) the present number of Spl CPs has reached to 14 whereas the sanctioned post of Special CP 12 only.
Even though it is not an unusual practice for Delhi police to have Spl CPs more than the sanctioned number the buzz has been doing rounds that at least two senior IPS officers would be moved outside. Reportedly, two Special CPs have completed already completed their tenures of three year with Delhi Police.
