2918Chandigarh (03.04.2024): Two Punjab cadre woman IAS officers
are likely to join politics and they may join the Bharatiya Janata Party. One of the woman officers is a relative of a senior Akali
leader and has not been given any important assignment for the past seven
years. Now, she is thinking of resigning from the IAS to join politics. There are
talks that she may join the BJP and may contest LS elections. Actually, seats where the BJP does not have big faces, the
party wants to include people from other political parties or bureaucrats etc
and field them in the election. IFS officer Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been
fielded from Amritsar seat, who had served as India's Ambassador to America. There are talks of another IAS officer resigning and
contesting an important seat in Malwa. The situation on this will become clear
in a day or two.
