New Delhi (20.03.2026): The tenures of two high-profile technical members at the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) are likely to be extended.
Well-placed sources indicate that formal proposals have been moved forextending the service tenures of Barun Mitra (Retd IAS: 1987: MN), former Union Secretary (Law), and Naresh Salecha (Retd IRAS: 1984), former Railway Board Member (Finance).
Both veterans of the Indian bureaucracy joined the NCLAT in May 2022. Their initial appointments as Member (Technical) were for a duration of four years or until they attained the age of 67, whichever came earlier.
