Chandigarh (12.07.2025): Under the UT administration’s mentorship programme — ‘Adopt a School, Inspire a Generation, as many as 12 IAS and three IPS officers are among the mentors for 42 government schools of Chandigarh. This programme was recently launched. Under the programme, for each school, one officer, one doctor, one professor and one entrepreneur has been nominated as a mentor.

The IAS officer-turned-mentors are: Chandigarh CS Rajeev Verma (IAS: 1992: AGMUT), UT Home Secretary Mandip Singh Brar (IAS: 2005: HY), Nishant Kumar Yadav (IAS: 2023: HY), Ajay Chagti (DANICS: 1992), Hari Kallikkat (IAS: 2018: AGMUT), Swapnil M Naik (IAS: 2009: AGMUT), Prerna Puri (IAS: 2006: AGMUT), Mohamed Mansoor L (IAS: 2017: AGMUT), Amit Kumar (IAS: 2008: PB), Pardeep Kumar, Chaudhary Abhijit Vijay (IAS: 2012: AGMUT) and Diprava Lakra (IAS: 2005: PB). The IPS officers who have been assigned the responsibility of a mentor are: Pushpendra Kumar (IPS: 2006: AGMUT), Kanwardeep Kaur (IPS: 2013: PB) and Sumer Pratap Singh (IPS: 2012: HY).
