With the VRS application of
Jasbir Singh Bajaj (IAS:1987:TN) under-process, the job of Resident
Commissioner at Tamil Nadu House in Delhi. Bajaj (Principal RC), is expected
to be relieved from the services by the end of this month. Meanwhile, N
Murugandam (IAS:1991:TN), initially posted as Resident Commissioner, has
already been designated as Principal RC. Subsequently, the RC post has
virtually fallen vacant. Indianmandarins has reliably
learnt that at least three IAS officers have reportedly thrown their hats into
the ring. They are Hitesh Kumar S Makwana (IAS:1995:TN), Ms R Jaya (IAS:1995:TN) and
Ashish Vachhani (IAS:1997:TN). All three are currently posted in cadre state. Makwana and Ms Jaya previously
served as Joint Secretary in MHA and I&B respectively and are about to
complete the cooling-off period. However, there is a feeling among some
officials that another officer, Vachhani, may have an edge over other claimants
for certain reasons.
