servants to play politics. After two senior officers joined political parties
on the same day i.e. 27 November 2018, a senior IRS officer Metta Rama Rao from
the 1991 batch IRS (C&CE) is reportedly all set to try his luck in electoral politics. Having served at Andhra Bhawan as
the Additional Resident Commissioner, he had submitted an application for VRS
seeking to be relieved from IRS w.e.f 31 August 2018. Following the acceptance
of his VRS application, he is all set to join a political party. U One of his colleagues joked that
until now, he had a social and political ‘agenda’ and in the next couple of
days, he would have a ‘jhanda’ as well, though it's not clear which political
party he may join. It may be recalled that on 27
November 2018. BJP chief Amit Shah inducted Aparajita Sarangi, a 1995 batch
IAS, into the party at his residence in New Delhi merely nine days after the
Centre consented to her VRS application. Similarly, Former Jt Director of CBI VV Lakshminarayana, who took VRS this March, announced his entry into politics.
