Chennai/New Delhi (29.06.2021): Out of seven candidates, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has shortlisted names of three candidates for the post of Tamil Nadu DGP. Reportedly, the panel included C Sylendra Babu (IPS:1987:TN), Karan Singha (IPS:1987:TN) and Sanjay Arora (IPS:1988:TN). Now, it is for the Tamil Nadu government to choose one of these three names. Incumbent DGP Jalad K Tripathy (IPS:1985:TN) is set to retire on June 30, so the government is expected to name his successor anytime now.
